Today we celebrate the #CriticallyEndangered Orangutan to raise awareness and increase conservation action! Our rainforests are disappearing at an alarming rate, primarily due to the expansion of palm-oil plantations and illegal logging. 🌳🚜
Fragmentation of their rainforest home means its more difficult for these orangutans to find food, mating partners and new home ranges. Our long-term research at SUAQ highlights the importance of saving the rainforests to preserve the unique cultures and social systems of the #SuaqOrangutans. 💚
