Meet Pak Rustam.
He has been a part of the team since 1994 and has one of the most crucial tasks…..Feeding everyone at the camp.
While the Global pandemic rages on, the @YEL team at the Suaq Balimbing monitoring station and the SUAQ research assistants have been working tirelessly to gather long-term data without fail this past year. The team’s health is of utmost importance as they follow our wild orangutan population for 13-14 hours daily. With his delicious curries and caring nature, Pak Rustam makes sure everyone in camp is fit and happy to work.
One of his favourite hobbies is to regularly go to the forest to gather herbs and plants to supplement the meals. Pak Rustam is one of the most honest and dependable people we know and it is a joy to work with him in the field.
