About 183 years ago, Charles Darwin met a great ape for the first time in his life – a captive orangutan female named Jenny. He was deeply fascinated by how Jenny interacted with the zookeeper just like a human child and thereafter, spent months studying orangutans’ behaviors and emotions at the London Zoo. We as orangutan researchers, standing on the shoulders of such a giant, are still continuing to discover our close cousin 🦧
