The Suaq Orangutan Project celebrates #InternationalWomensDay and the many driven women from around the world who come to Suaq Balimbing Research Station to “kerja bersama” -work together-in the name of research and conservation. 🤝
.
.
Dr. Caroline Schuppli directs the orangutan research at the station through the University of Zurich, Switzerland. Thus, several graduate students from Switzerland have conducted research at the field site. We also host and support students from Indonesia, especially from Aceh, the province in which the field site is located. Female researchers from around the globe come here too! 🌏
.
.
Together, the women at Suaq support and empower each to become better scientists and better conservationists. We hope to continue this for long into the future! 💪
.
.
Check out our stories to see some of the faces of the #womenofsuaq and where they are from. 💚

Donating to Suaq helps us support Acehnese and Indonesian female students continue their education. Consider donating on our website in honor of this special day! 🙌
