This Halloween we’ll be eating all the candy and chocolate, but our orangutans probably won’t join in on the candy feast, they have other things in the forest to eat! πŸŽƒ
.
How can you have an orangutan friendly Halloween?πŸŽƒ
.
.
When you’re out buying candy look for brands. that use sustainable palm oil. Palm oil is found in so many of our products and often results in the clearing of the rainforests. It’s hard to avoid it, so the Rountable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) is working to make palm oil production more rainforest friendly.
Lucky for us, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo @cheyennemountainzoo has already made a guide of which chocolate companies are members of the RSPO.
And they have an app to check if your other household products are orangutan friendly!πŸƒπŸƒ

Now, do you know what orangutans like to eat?
.
.
All kinds of things! From fruits, leaves, vines, tree bark, insects, to the occasional slow loris (a rare event to see!); orangutans are actually omnivorous. Their diet is typically high in fruit making them excellent seed dispersers and very important to the rainforest ecosytem.πŸƒπŸƒ

Apakah kamu tau makanan kesukaan orangutan?

Berbagai macam!
